Welcome to The Charms of Anatolia!
The Charms of Anatolia is not just a podcast—it is a journey through time, memory, and meaning. Anatolia, one of the world’s great cultural crossroads, shaped humanity itself, as civilizations, beliefs, sciences, and even genetic traces spread far beyond their origins.
Through over a hundred carefully crafted episodes, this podcast explores:
The birth of Anatolian civilizations
Peoples, cultures, religions, and philosophies
Migrations, trade routes, wars, and cultural survival
We speak of gods and ideas, myths and sciences, prosperity and collapse. History shows that civilizations fade when balance is lost. By studying these patterns, we gain insight into fairness, responsibility, and the long-term consequences of human choices.
Alongside historical narratives, special episodes guide you through unique travel routes across Türkiye, letting you experience its ancient roads as if you were walking them yourself.
I’m Hüseyin Sönmezay, a licensed professional tour guide based in Antalya. This project is independently created, intentionally slow, and deeply researched—for listeners who want to understand, digest, and remember history.
You are invited to observe more deeply, listen more carefully, and remember.
Support this independent project and help keep it slow, deep, and thoughtful at: patreon.com/TourGuideHuss
Note: This podcast is currently presented in English as its primary language. Multilingual editions will appear in dedicated channels

A conversational exploration of humanity and the phenomena that makes us human. In an increasingly dehumanizing social milieu, The Great Rehumanization seeks to emphasize and highlight the intrinsic value of human beings, regardless of what labels one adheres to--the only label that matters is HUMAN. Expect to hear music, stories, rumination, and conversation, all loudly proclaiming, as Joseph Campbell once said, that being who you are is life's greatest privilege.
