Many podcasters have decided that getting a guest to tell their best story is the ticket to a great show. Indeed, we're big fans of this kind of podcast format. How can it not be a winner every time? Well, you'd be surprised.
Welcome to Storytime with Seth Rogen, where every week Seth asks somebody, “Do you have a great story? And if you do, will you tell it on my podcast?” That’s it. That’s the concept.
Not a typical comedian-hosted chat show, each episode features a presentation unto itself, with supporting interviews and archival tape woven into each story with a rhythmic editing style. While not all the stories are knee-slap funny, it's worth a listen just for the editing effort where you can decide if it adds value to the story or distracts from it. Still, Seth is always engaged and reveals his curiosity about people and the world, and always ends up in an unexpected place.

My First Million is one of the top ranked business podcasts in the world. Each week Sam and Shawn (and sometimes Ben Wilson, like for the one we reviewed) brainstorm new business ideas, interview business builders who are creating big, meaningful companies and perform business breakdowns in a straight-forward fashion. Basically, they say that they're your research team who spoon-feeds you interesting business insights that you'd normally have to pay for.
And we'd say they do a pretty great job of it all around.
In this episode of “No Harm In Asking” Mike and Eric review “MFM” where we discuss why this podcast is consistently a winner and what past accomplishments really enable the hosts to pull this off so successfully. Additionally, as seasoned content guys, paying attention to the small things they do could really help with getting your listenership up and ensuring your past episodes can get added traction.
