When he climbed inside the driver’s seat, he instantly noticed that the back left of his vehicle seemed to be sagging slightly. But before he could figure out why that was, he thought he saw something moving in his peripheral vision off to his left. Reflexively, he turned and looked out his window into the dark night, and there, only a few feet away from him was a shadowy figure looking right at him.
