Today I'm thankful for... and then jot down 4 or 5 things and then take some time for prayer and expressing your gratitude to God for those things. If any of those things involve others, take some time today to express your thanks personally to them.

We have all been in the situation of making plans, or thinking that something will happen in a certain way, and then it all changes. It brings such disappointment and takes a lot of adjustment even causing us to question whether we have heard from God or not. Things don't always happen in the way that we hoped it would. God allows it to happen differently for a reason. We may never know why this side of Heaven - but no experience is ever wasted.

We live in a dark world and it's darker each day. The only remedy for darkness is light. Jesus said: “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Shine today brothers and sisters and dispel the darkness where you are.
