A refuge is defined as a shelter or protection from danger or distress, something to which one has recourse in difficulty. God is our refuge... that's the promise of Psalm 46. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Be encouraged as I read this Psalm over you today and rest in His refuge.

I love what David said in Psalm 40:1-2 - I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps. Ever feel like you're in a pit and can't get out? There is so much power in praising the Lord. I love the words of the old Imperial's song Praise the Lord - "Praise the Lord, He can work through those who praise Him Praise the Lord, for our God inhabits praise Praise the Lord, for the chains that seems to bind you Serve only to remind you that they drop powerless behind you When you praise Him."
