many folks have seen the news article of the dog that ingested 44 items and had to have surgery, i am always blown away by stories like this and baffled that owners do not crate their dogs. On the flip side, so many folks feel that using a crate is abusive and being lazy and bad ownership which blows me away even more. Such bad messaging out there, which will lead to owners surrendering dogs.
