Bunny Brown and his Sister Sue at Camp Rest-a-While by Laura Lee Hope audiobook.

Genre: adventure

Bunny Brown and his little sister Sue are off for a new summertime treat: Camp Rest-a-While, a cheerful place in the woods where city worries feel far away and every day promises something to discover. With their warmhearted family close by, the two curious youngsters plunge into camp life - learning the rhythms of outdoor living, making new friends, and turning simple moments into big adventures. But the forest and the lakeside are full of surprises. Strange noises in the night, mix-ups that do not feel accidental, and a few stubborn misunderstandings test Bunny's quick thinking and Sue's brave, eager spirit. As the children explore cabins, trails, and the water's edge, they also begin to understand what it means to be responsible for others, to tell the truth even when it is hard, and to meet trouble with patience instead of panic. Light, lively, and filled with gentle humor, this classic story captures the fun of camp and the small mysteries that can make an ordinary summer feel unforgettable.

The Begum's Fortune by Jules Verne audiobook.

Genre: scifi

A novel with some utopian elements, but primarily dystopian. A French doctor and a German professor both inherit a vast fortune as descendants of a French soldier who married the rich widow of an Indian prince. They both decide to go to America and establish their own 'ideal' society. Dr. Sarrasin, the French doctor, is focused on maintaining public health. He builds Ville-France. Professor Schultze, the German scientist, is a bit of a militarist and racist. He builds Stahlstadt and devotes his city to the production of ever more powerful weapons so that he can destroy Sarrasin's city. They manage to get the US to cede sovereignty to two cities so that the two newly rich men can create their utopia. The setting for Ville-France would place it on the Oregon Coast, near Bandon, Oregon. The location for the second city, Stahlstadt, is less clear, but the description would place it somewhere near Roseburg, Oregon

The Bobbsey Twins at Snow Lodge by Laura Lee Hope audiobook.

Genre: adventure

When the Bobbsey twins trade their familiar seaside routines for a winter getaway, excitement follows them straight into the mountains. Bert and Nan, along with their younger siblings Freddie and Flossie, arrive at Snow Lodge expecting skating, sleigh rides, and cozy evenings by the fire. But the lodge is not as peaceful as it first appears. Strange mishaps, missing belongings, and whispered suspicions ripple through the guests, and the twins quickly sense that someone is taking advantage of the snowy bustle to hide mischief in plain sight. As the children explore frosted trails, shadowy corridors, and the nearby village, they piece together clues with the help of loyal friends and their steady, sensible parents. Each twin brings a different strength: Bert's bold curiosity, Nan's level-headed care, and Freddie and Flossie's knack for being in the middle of the action at just the wrong - or right - moment. With winter storms closing in and trust wearing thin, the Bobbseys must sort accident from intention and uncover what is really happening at Snow Lodge before the trouble turns serious.
