Life before, during and after the holocaust with Buchenwald survivor, Melvin Federbush. In hour 5 of this series, he reveals his harrowing experiences while in Nazi occupied Poland. Melvin Federbush was born in Deblin, Poland, July 1923. He attended Cheder and Yeshiva as well as high school. Within eight days of Hitler's invasion of Poland, his parents and nine year old twin sisters were killed during a bombing attack. Melvin was taken prisoner during the Nazi occupation and forced to live in ghettos and concentration camps including Triglitz and the infamous Buchenwald. While being transported to Theresienstadt in a cattle car he escaped. Pretending to be a Polish Christian he managed to find work on a farm until the Russian army advanced into Germany and liberated prisoners in the area as well as him. Of his entire family of approximately 110 people, only he and his brother survived. After the war Melvin lived in Zurich and Lugano, Switzerland where he continued his education. In 1950 he immigrated to the United States and eventually became a fine arts dealer. Melvin is active in his community. He participates in the Westchester Holocaust Education Center, the Westchester Hemophilia Association, the Holocaust Museum in Washington, and the Museum of Jewish Heritage in New York City. He is a member of Yad V'Shem in Jerusalem, the World Jewish Congress and B'nai B'rith, and a long-standing member of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. Dismissed True Stories is a survivor-led podcast that dares to break the silence around domestic violence, emotional abuse, and toxic relationships. Each episode shares the raw, unfiltered realities of what abuse really looks like. From overlooked red flags to moments of escape, and everything in between.

Created by a survivor-turned-advocate with a broadcasting background, DTS is where stories once silenced are now spoken. Loudly, honestly, and without apology. We’re not here to sensationalize abuse; we’re here to humanize survivors.

You’ll hear from survivors finding their voices, families forever changed by loss, and organizations working to support healing and recovery. Sometimes, it’s one survivor passing the mic to another with a piece of advice that could change or.. save a life.

But DTS isn’t just about telling stories of survival. Each episode's commentary helps you decode your own story, make sense of your experiences, and see the patterns you might have missed while in survival mode.

The tone? Like talking with a trusted friend. No fluff. Just truth.

Whether you're navigating narcissistic abuse, gaslighting, or coercive control or you're in the process of rebuilding your self-worth and healing your trauma this space is for you.

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is finally tell your own story.

Survivor-led. Heart-led. Truth-led.

From the post-apocalyptic novel After the Virus - A Surviralist's Journal (available on Amazon). When a deadly mutated virus sweeps the globe, survival expert Will Scott knows that his only chance is in the remote Ishi Wilderness, once the domain of “America’s last wild Indian”. He soon finds that surviving the elements is nothing compared to the relentless pursuit of a failed-state militia bent on killing every “surviralist” existing outside of the quarantine zone. When he rescues a teenage girl named Hope, whose family has been slaughtered and trains her in wilderness self-sufficiency, her skills eventually exceed even his. His compassion is repaid when Hope becomes the provider and the warrior needed for them to endure. Told first-person in the style of a daily diary, each episode contains one or more day’s journal entries of nearly 12 months on the run in the wild.

Little Ditty ‘bout... is your home for sharp, funny, and unfiltered takes on the most addictive corners of reality TV and streaming documentaries.

— — —

Hosted by husband and wife team Jack and Diana—New York natives now based in Los Angeles. Jack (a former TV writer, radio producer, and working VO artist) and Diana (a former television professional turned educator) bring a seasoned, industry-informed lens to the world of unscripted entertainment.

— — —

Whether we are breaking down the high-stakes strategy of The Traitors US, the chaos of Below Deck, or the latest trending documentary on HBO Max, Netflix, or Hulu, we pull back the curtain on how these shows are built and why we’re watching.

— — —

Long-time listeners will recognize this feed as the former home of All Pleasure No Guilt (APNG). Our prior 90 Day Fiancé coverage under that name remains available here as we transition into this new chapter. While this feed recently featured deep-dives into scripted hits like Dexter and Fallout (reposts from our sister podcast, Dark Passengers), we have returned to our reality TV roots.

No rules, no limits—just a little ditty ‘bout whatever the hell we feel like. (And for the record: it's Diana, not Diane.)

Have you always wanted to meet a survivor of the Holocaust? Maybe you've met a survivor but have always wished you could spend time with them to really know them. This is your opportunity. Each year fewer and fewer survivors are still with us. Don't wait for this honor - this privilege, really. "The Last Boy" takes you on a journey with host Steve Fisher and survivor Sid Taussig, back to World War II to Terezin Concentration Camp where 92 teenage boys in Dorm Number One risked their lives to published their own magazine, Vedem, right under the Nazis' noses. Towards the end of the war, 15 year old Sid was the very last boy in Dorm Number One, as all his friends had been transported East to Auschwitz. Not wanting the Nazis to burn the magazine in their attempts to destroy evidence of their atrocities, Sid buried it behind the blacksmith's forge. The blacksmith happened to be Sidney's father, and it would be that stroke of luck which would lead to his and the magazine's survival. When the Russians finally arrived to liberate Terezin in May of 945, Sid dug up Vedem and brought it back with him to Prague. If it hadn't been for him, the world would not know about this invaluable artifact that is not only the longest-running underground publication of the Holocaust, but the most important document for historians and the world to understand what life was like in Terezin. It is also a work of journalistic and literary art, created entirely by boys. The story of Sidney Taussig and the entries from the magazine he and his friends published will make you laugh, cry and cause you to marvel as it shines a light into the corners of the boys' hearts, minds and souls. You'll have the privilege of coming to know not only Sid, but other survivors of Terezin. You will be enchanted by this heartwarming, heartbreaking, and ultimately uplifting story of teenagers - most of whom would not survive - determined to do something extraordinary under impossible circumstances. By hearing about Sid's incredible journey, as well as Steve's journey to come to know and love him like the Jewish grandfather he never had, you'll go on your own journey. Oh, and make your plans to come to NYC to see the play that this podcast gave birth to. After a sold out world premier production, The Last Boy...a new play with music will make a triumphant return to Off Broadway from February 22nd to March 13th, 2022. You can even see it ON Broadway on April 27th, 2022 at 6pm at the one-night only, "A Benefit on Broadway...a Yom HaShoah to remember." For more information, the chance to buy tickets ahead of the public, special offers, and the chance to win a trip to New York to meet the Broadway cast, visit thelastboy.info.
