Celebrando 30 Años de Pies Descalzos
October 6, 2025
•51m
In this episode, we’re celebrating the 30th anniversary of Shakira’s breakthrough album Pies Descalzos (released October 6, 1995). Before global superstardom, before “Whenever, Wherever,” there was a 17-year-old Shakira who decided to take creative control, reinvent herself, and walk barefoot into Latin pop history.
Aunque no fue un éxito inmediato, el álbum eventually sold over 5 million copies and became the foundation of the Shakira we know and love today.
We’ll dive into the backstory, track-by-track highlights, the symbolism behind going barefoot, and why fans still call this era “la Shakira de antes.” Plus, we’ll share personal memories of discovering the album and reflect on how its legacy continues 30 years later.
