Who am I?

I’m passionate about helping people live well, even in the face of chronic illness. As someone who has navigated confusing symptoms, medical setbacks, and moments of resilience, I know how powerful it is to share stories that make us feel less alone. I chose this subject because I’ve lived it. My own journey with chronic illness has shown me both the frustrations of navigating the healthcare system and the strength that comes from finding hope, community, and new ways forward. Creating this list is my way of highlighting podcasts that inspire, comfort, and empower anyone facing similar challenges.

My Show

What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?

My podcast, Well Again, is about finding ways to thrive with chronic illness. Through personal storytelling, I share the ups and downs of navigating the medical world, building resilience, and learning to live well despite ongoing challenges. It ties directly to this playlist because I want to spotlight other voices and shows that offer similar support, wisdom, and encouragement.

What is my podcast playlist about?

This playlist brings together podcasts that explore resilience, health, and the human spirit. It’s for anyone living with chronic illness — or supporting someone who is — and looking for hope, practical advice, or just the reminder that they aren’t alone. Each podcast included has something unique to offer, whether it’s lived experience, medical insight, or inspiration for daily life.

How terrifying would it be to fight an unknown enemy? One you don’t recognize and didn’t see coming? What if that enemy was coming from within; a disease that even doctors couldn’t identify? Nearly half of all Americans suffer from some chronic illness and many struggle for an accurate diagnosis.

Every other week on Symptomatic, host Lauren Bright Pacheco unravels the medical mystery of a patient’s baffling symptoms and explores how their lives were turned upside down in search of answers.

From the first signs of trouble, through a swirl of misdirection and failed treatment attempts, to the final relief at a confirmed diagnosis - these are their stories. This is Symptomatic.

Dr. Katinka van der Merwe has spent the last twelve years of her career developing her patented treatment system, addressing neurologic dysfunction and severe chronic pain. She was raised in a holistic background and believes that the human body is more than a collection of parts, each to be analyzed and treated separately. Based on the success of her program where every other treatment failed, she is now sharing her knowledge with the world. She believes that there ought to be better answers for those living with the hell of daily chronic pain. After treating hundreds of patients, she and her staff have noted repeated patterns in the chronic pain population. This knowledge provides a wealth of information previously unavailable to chronic pain patients. You deserve more answers and a better approach than chasing inadequate pain management. You deserve the chance to regain the life you were meant to live.
