Who am I?

I'm Katie Fogarty—journalist, career coach, and the host and producer of A Certain Age a top-ranked podcast for women navigating life at 40, 50, 60 and beyond—where expert science meets real talk, and midlife feels less like something to survive and more like something to own. I launched A Certain Age 35 days before my 51st birthday—because I couldn't find the show I was looking for, so I built it. Before podcasting became my sixth act, I worked as a TV news writer, at global PR firms, on Capitol Hill, and even as an English teacher in Japan. I know a thing or two about reinvention. That background shapes every conversation I have on this show. I know how to ask the questions that get to the heart of things—and I know firsthand what it feels like to be navigating a new chapter with no roadmap. Pop culture is obsessed with youth. I'm obsessed with something far more interesting: the women who are rewriting what it means to be 40, 50, and 60 right now. A Certain Age isn't a show about getting older. It's a show about getting better—at knowing yourself, investing in your health, building what's next, and finding your people while you do it. Listeners say it’s like the best dinner party imaginable: brilliant experts, zero small talk, every conversation lights you up. For women ready to ask better questions and who want real answers. 40, 50, 60 stands for something. Our show's tagline is #AgeOutLoud. And we are just getting started.

2. unPAUSED with Dr. Mary Claire Haver

Why this podcast?

I've been a fan of Dr. Mary Claire Haver ever since I interviewed her on my podcast. Now I follow her show, because she isn't just another host talking about menopause — she's a board-certified OB-GYN who's built her entire career on the science of this transition, so every conversation is backed by actual medical credibility, not just vibes. Each week she brings on physicians, CEOs, and high-achieving women to tackle the stuff still treated as taboo — health span, hormones, identity — giving us real information and the latest science.

Pursuing your future doesn’t end at 40, in fact, it may mark the beginning of knowing who you are, what you’re capable of and what you really want. But knowing what’s next and how to get there can be a challenge—especially when old narratives play on repeat. I’ve come to believe that the best way to understand your possibilities is in hearing from others—what they have done and how they have done it.LIBERTY ROAD is here to share stories so that you can consider your possibilities, pursue your purpose and move into your future with intention.
