The best podcasts for Inspirational Leadership

Who am I?

As a business owner, trainer, and speaker, I've led and advised organizations across industries. Over years in leadership, I've dedicated myself to developing leaders at every level — from the front line to the executive suite. These are the people who elevate everyone around them. I chose inspirational leadership because I've seen firsthand — as a business owner, not just a student of theory — that leadership is the single greatest multiplier of success or failure inside any organization. I've built and run successful companies, and every hard lesson I learned came down to the same truth: strategy doesn't fail, leadership does. That conviction deepened when I served as State President of the Home Builders Association of South Carolina, where I led across a diverse coalition of leaders, each with their own priorities, pressures, and personalities. Uniting people like that toward a common goal taught me more about real leadership than any book could. Those experiences are why I founded my leadership consulting firm — to help other business owners and executives develop the kind of leaders who make everyone around them better. It's also why I started my podcast: to create a space where I could learn from other leaders and share those insights with a broader audience. Between running companies, advising organizations, and having deep conversations with leaders across industries, I haven't just studied inspirational leadership — I've lived it, tested it, and built my career around it.

My career is an accident. It started when I set out to rediscover my passion and reignite a spark I’d lost — and that journey led me to the work I do now. If you know me from my books or my speaking, you know I’m fascinated by why people do what they do. What makes someone find joy and meaning in their life, or pursue something far greater than themselves? I started A Bit of Optimism to explore those ideas and expand my own perspective. This podcast is a trove of honest conversations, with people who challenge me, teach me, or simply help me see things in a different way. Some guests are household names, and others you may be meeting for the first time. But each one of them has something to share that can help all of us grow. So if you’re looking for a spark — some insight, inspiration, or just a reminder that good things are possible — join me on A Bit of Optimism! Let’s grow together.
